Savoury Coeur a la Creme

There’s the kind of recipe that you make, it’s great, but for some reason, you don’t make it again. Perhaps it was too fussy, the ingredients too difficult to source or it just wasn’t worth the effort. And then there’s the kind of recipe that’s great and you continue to make it again and again. They’re the ones I’m interested in, and they’re the ones I share.

Today, I have one of these little gems to share that you might not have stumbled across yet. It’s a Savoury Coeur a la Creme  from Ina Garten, The Barefoot Contessa. Ina’s dip is like a pillow of whipped cream and cream cheese wrapped snugly in a blanket of mango chutney. It’s nothing like the ones you get in the store, so don’t even think about it. This one is light and delicate and almost too good to be true and with your favourite brand of chutney poured on top – it makes for terribly addictive appetiser that your waistline will deeply regret. So next time you’re having friends over, why not winkle out the muslin and squeeze some cheese for this light and tasty recipe.

Ina’s original recipe is here: Savoury Coeur a la Creme

But I think Karen’s photo from Something Sweet by Karen makes it look better!
